2018 Meritage 202, Sonoma Valley

The 2018 Meritage 202 is a full bodied red blend that pays homage to the winery’s original bonded number ‘202’ given to patriarch Louis Kunde in the 1900’s. The blending of five Bordeaux varieties forms a distinct nose of plum, currants and anise. This heady bouquet is enhanced by opulent, full mouth flavors of black cherry and dried cranberries.

Winemaker’s Comments “We chose to really focus on the luscious fruit from a plentiful but ripe harvest. Soft and silky tannins are pushed forward as a showcase to support the dominant flesh of the mixed berries of the vintage. In true Kunde fashion of putting our best foot forward, we used Cabernet Sauvignon as a dominant player while allowing the additional blending varieties to layer in beautiful flavors.”
