The name of this wine pays tribute to the red volcanic soils formed 5 million years ago here at the Kunde Estate. Each vintage of Red Dirt Red showcases the astonishingly wide range of grape varieties that grow and thrive in our vivid rust-colored soils. The 2019 vintage is a complex blend of Sangiovese, Grenache and Petit Verdot and more. The juicy aromas of cherry, raspberry and cinnamon are nicely balanced with rich palate notes of plum, black currant and caramel.
Winemaker’s Comments: "Red Dirt Red is a Kunde Family Winery house favorite! There are distinct flavor profiles produced from the varied slopes and exposures of the Kunde Estate. This year’s blend is special with the Sangiovese, Grenache and Petit Verdot providing a rich foundation of plum and caramel flavors. A fantastic food wine, our Red Dirt Red pairs well with several types of cuisines but can easily be enjoyed on its own!”
